Location

Within a Student Profile is the Registration tab.

 

Filters

Student registration can be filtered per year and quarter.

 

Unit Summary Box

The Unit Summary Box reflects the units that the student completed at UCSB or at another UC. Any non UC transfer units are also accounted for in this summary.

 

Registration History

This section displays the student’s full graduate registration history.

Quarter
The current year and quarter that a student with an open degree objective has a record for.

Reg Status
A student’s registered or official ‘on leave’ status is displayed under this column.
If ‘N/A’ this means there is no registration status but there is an open quarter. For example, if the Fall quarter is open but the student is not yet registered.

Other possible codes and translation:
C=Cancelled
L=Lapsed
M=Missed fee
O=On leave
R=Regsitered
W=Withdrawn

GLA
GLA stands for Graduate Leave of Absence. If a student is on leave, the leave type will be displayed here.

In Absentia
Under this column, a ‘Y' code means that a student is In Absentia registration for that quarter. If you know that a student petitioned for In Absentia and a 'Y’ is not displayed here, please contact the Graduate Division to check on its status. You can also contact the student to confirm if they withdrew from their intended In Absentia.

Fee Status
The fee status reflects whether a student’s fees has been paid or if any should be assessed. A student who is in an official leave should have a status of “No fees to be assed”.

F=Financial Protect
G=Graduate Division Protect
L=Paid Late
N=No Fees to be Assessed
P=Paid
Z=Registrar Proect

Class Level
The class level can be: masters, doctoral, professional ,unclassified

For doctoral students, their progress can be displayed as such:

  • P1 status: Academic or professional doctorate degree objective, but not advanced to candidacy

  • P2 status: Academic or professional doctorate degree objective, has advanced to candidacy (P2 status lasts for 9 registered quarters)

  • P3 status: After 9 registered quarters as P2 status, students become P3 status. International students in P3 status will be charged non-resident supplemental tuition.

Cal Res
A student who has CA residency will have a 'Y' code. International students typically have a “N” code.

U=Unverified
T=Temporary

Study Load
The amount of units that a student is/was registered for that quarter.

Units Completed
During the current quarter, this field will have a N/A because student has yet to complete the units. After the grades are assigned and courses have been completed, the final units for that quarter should be reflected. Failed courses are not reflected in the Units Completed.

Quarter GPA
The quarter GPA is reflected if letter grades are assigned and units are completed.
A “0.00” is displayed if the student took a S/U or P/NP grading option.
A “N/A” is shown if a student is either: still completing a course, was on an official leave or lapsed that quarter.

Ins Waiver
A 'Y' code means that a student had insurance waiver for that quarter.

Additional Cards

Each row can be expanded to display additional registration information. Press the down arrow button to display the information.

 

If a student participated in Intercampus Exchange, has reinstated for the quarter or has an active registration block, this information will be visible here.

 

If a student has lapsed for the current quarter, the red notification box will be displayed here. If a student continues to lapse for the subsequent quarter, a new quarter will not be displayed on GradPoint.


Students who reinstated will have the green notification box.
