  • What is the difference between Power BI Free and Power BI Pro?
    • Power BI Free is a View Only license that allows you to view and interact with reports and dashboards that have been shared with you.   A free licensed user can still build reports using Power BI desktop, but they will not be able to share the reports they have created without support from a Pro licensed user.   
    • Power BI Pro is a Development license that allows you to publish and distribute reports that you or a team member have developed with your organization. Typically you only need this license if you are responsible for developing content for your team or organization.  
  • Is there anywhere I need to go to in order to install the Pro version of the application?
    • No.  The Pro License simply allows you to publish and share content you have created within Power BI Desktop.  There is only one version of Power BI Desktop that is used by all, regardless of licensing.  
  • What is Power BI Desktop
    • Power BI Desktop is the report builder for Power BI.  It allows you to connect to data sources and build visualizations for your team or organization.
