Retroactive Schedule Adjustments
Any request to alter a student’s schedule that is made after the last day of instruction is considered retroactive, and must be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

General Submission and Processing Information
Any request to alter the schedule that comes after the last day of instruction is considered to be retroactive and an exception
The Graduate Division Academic Services Staff are responsible for reviewing each retroactive schedule adjustment request for graduate students
If Academic Services staff approves a request, it is then sent to the Registrar, who make the adjustment to the transcript.
We generally have a backlog of these requests, and they may take months to process
Expectations of Departmental Staff and Faculty Graduate Advisors
Staff Graduate Advisors should remind their students to check their transcripts during the second half of the quarter to make sure they are registered in the correct courses
The majority of retroactive schedule adjustments that are submitted are due to errors that can be avoided (such as forgetting to drop a class that they never attended, or forgetting to add an independent study that they actually did all quarter, etc.)
Expectations of Graduate Division Academic Services Staff
The Graduate Division staff is responsible for ensuring that approval of such requests don’t result in transcript manipulation, such as approving requests for students who aren’t happy with their grade and want a more presentable transcript.
This is difficult to ascertain, therefore we really want to urge students to withdraw on time (by the last day of instruction each quarter).
