Applicant Notification

The Graduate Division maintains the responsibility and right of notifying all applicants of their admissions decision. While the Graduate Dean has authorized the practice of departments sending letters regarding admissions offers to applicants, only the official letter from the Dean of the Graduate Division constitutes a formal offer of admission. To ensure that applicants understand that the Graduate Dean’s decision letter is their formal offer, departments must include an indication that the final letter will come from the Graduate Division.

Note: DO NOT send department admit letters to applicants who require exceptions or special handling by the Graduate Division until the Graduate Dean’s letter has been populated in the applicant’s online application.

Graduate Division sends official decision notifications to:

  • All admitted domestic and international applicants

  • All denied and incomplete applicants
