Meeting Goals and Expected Preparation
Goals
- Understand Apigee's direction for Drupal 8 upgrade of portal
Notes
Alex White from Apigee... Diana, Steven, Denise, Gary, Ian, Kevin Wu Call with Apigee about Drupal 8 Module Apigee started with Apigee drupal 8 module last Nov. Started over rather than using old D7 Module Alpha out now... 2 modules Apigee Edge SDK - connections to Apigee Gateway Apigee Edge Drupal module Monetization - separate module Kickstarter - to get new customers up and running. Hopefully beta end of Oct. Monetization will be separate module. Kickstarted module with a given theme. end of Jan early Feb aim to have drupal 8 module out and as good as D7 module. Apigee will move out of the Drupal Mgmnt. business with D8 system. Integrated Portal will be their internal effort. Apigee will not be in the middle with Pantheon Integrated Portal will be aimed to satisfy 80-90% of customers needs. Team functionality will be in both Integrated Portal AND Drupal 8 module. Customers are pretty much on their own for migrating from D7 --> D8 Sig Global - east coast partnering with Apigee Chapter 3 - also partnering with Apigee Alpha not guaranteed to be backward compatible. Beta will be backward compatible.
Diana's notes:
Integrated portal - still missing features, but they are focusing their resources on enhancing it and building features
Pantheon on campus - how to migrate to that environment (see notes below)
Non-mint companies feature will be part of the Apigee edge drupal module in Drupal 8
Ian - path to move forward:
We install 8 under UCSB's pantheon license
Install the alpha version
Then beta
Migrate data from the drupal 7 site when ready
In 6-8 weeks will be releasing the beta version
