An interdisciplinary graduate emphasis is a focused area of study that is offered as an addition to an existing graduate degree program in one or more participating departments. An emphasis is noted on transcripts but does not appear on diplomas. Each emphasis has established procedures for application and enrollment. In order for an emphasis to appear on the student’s transcript upon graduation, they must petition to officially add the emphasis through the Graduate Division.
