Troubleshooting a Document Upload Error

• If the PDF has security features that GradPoint can’t handle or will cause the document to be unreadable by other viewers, an error will prevent the Action Step from being submitted.

• What to do if you receive this error:

  • Modify the PDF so that it no longer has the security features. If you aren’t the person who added the security features, you can try to

    • Open the PDF and “Print to PDF” - doing this often removes the extra security features

    • Open the PDF and take a screenshot of it, then create a new PDF from the screenshot

    • Print the PDF on paper, then scan the printed copy to create a new PDF

  • Once you have created a new PDF, upload it in the Action Step to confirm there is no longer an error

  • Once the document is uploaded successfully, you can continue with the submission of the Action Step
