TTD Standards
Â
This report shows you all of the different time-to-degree standards that are used for each program. This report displays the standards that are actually used in the TTA/TTD calculations in all of GradPoint (TTD Box, TTD Reports, etc).
Why you need it
This report is used to display all of the time-to-advance and time-to-degree standards that are used for each program. These are the same time-to-degree standards that are found on the website here, just in the format we use to match them to the correct majors and objectives for the GradPoint time-to-degree calculations. This report displays them much more granularly, as that is how we have to store the data in order to match them to the correct major/objective/emphasis combinations.
This section describes things in a high level of technical detail, but may be interesting to users to glean more insight into the complexities of time-to-degree standards.

Effective Quarter
The Effective quarter indicates when that standard first becomes effective. By default, an academic objective is matched to the standard with the greatest effective quarter that is less than or equal to the objective start quarter. So, if a program creates a new standard as of 2021 Fall, then that is what will be input in the effective quarter.
Older standards have an effective quarter of 19001 just to be sure to catch all of the older students

Track Type Description
The track type describes the type of standard that could apply to a program. There are currently four track types; Default, Emphasis, MA/PhD, and MAPHD/Emphasis. Tracks allow for variation of TTA/TTD standards within a Major/Objective, depending on other data element(s) affiliated with a given student objective (such as emphasis). More descriptions are below.

Retroactive Quarter
The Retroactive quarter indicates when that standard is retroactive to. So, if a program creates a new, longer, TTD standard in fall of 2021, and wants it to apply to all students who have been in the program since 2010, then the Retroactive Quarter would be used. The effective quarter would be 2021 fall, and the retroactive quarter would be 2010 fall.

Track Type
Default Track - The default track is what most programs fall into. It means that the objective itself (i.e. MA or PhD) is enough data to be able to match the correct standard to it.
Emphasis Track - Some programs have different TTDs depending on the specific emphasis. Music is a good example of this, they have a PhD program in MUSIC (major), but each of their PhD emphases have different TTDs. The emphasis track is used so the TTD calculation knows to take emphasis into consideration for a standard.
MA/PHD Track - Some programs have a different TTD depending on whether the student is in the MA/PHD program, or if they are PHD only. If a program has this type of standard, then it would be labeled as a MA/PHD Track, and there would be a track value for PhD only and MAPHD students (different TTDs for each track value)
Track Value
Track values are used to indicate the value to match when evaluating the data elements indicated by the track type. For example, if the Track Type is MA/PHD Track, and the student is in the PhD only, the Track Value will be PHD.
Advance Quarters
This is the program’s Advancement Standard in quarters. If a program’s time-to-advance is 4 years, the Advance Quarters will display as 12
Completion Quarters
This is the program’s Completion Standard in quarters. If a program’s time-to-degree is 7 years, the Completion Quarters will display as 21.
All master’s degrees are entered with the campus-wide 4-year (12 quarter) standard
