• Discuss the Involvio app experience with Ben Price

Involvio was purchased by RHA and student.

Students required to use it for residence hall association programming. They do 200 programs a year. Calendaring, check-in process. Like 10-20 events a week for RHA. 

2016 freshmen class used it. 

The student got overwhelmed with school requirements and had to focus on school. 

No other work is done since the student left.

During the summer of summer 2017 a discussion with Miles Ashlock about OrgSync for events.

Other resources within the app - integration with gaucho space, gaucho blue, sports events.

it is the ucsb branded app. 

Security - driven by shibboleth for campus authentication. 

The app has a lot more than what we are using, like conferences, events. 

classified area is used quite a bit

Started a conversation with residential community to see if there is a need to revamp is. 15000/year for unlimited licensing.

Lessons learned

having an owner that is here indefinitely is critical in being successful. He wants to get someone from housing in that role. 

one idea is to get a professor to sponsor the students, the Professor is recruiting students. Phil Conrad is recommended by Ben. Tim Sherwood is another one.
