Accessing Power BI

  1. Users can view a list of current PowerBI Power BI applications, their descriptions, and how to request access to each one here: https://dataservices.ucsb.edu/power-bi-additional-access

  2. Login using Log into Power BI from this link: https://app.powerbi.com/home

    1. Note that A DUO multifactor authentication push to the user's registered mobile device is now required before logging into PowerBIPower BI. The campus IT group manages the DUO system. To report an issue, please call (805) 893-5000 or visit the following website: https://ithelp.ucsb.edu Their hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

    2. Login For Power BI login issues, please email: support@dataservices.ucsb.edu

    3. Username: UCSBNetID@ucsb.edu email address

    4. Password: Identical to user's UCSB NetID password

Navigating to Apps and Reports

navigate to the apps they were given permissions to one of two ways:

  1. By clicking on the ‘Apps’ button on the left-hand navigation menu or

  2. By scrolling down the Power BI homepage and locating the 'My Apps' button when scrolling down the Power BI homepage to view a list of all apps that they have access to:

Once an app is open, the user can then view a list of reports listed under the app in the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the webpage.

By default, once any Power BI request has been placed, approved, and fulfilled for a faculty or staff member, that the user will also receive automatic access to :
